Springfest

SpringfestBean Me UpCharisma Coffee was well represented at Ballarat's Springfest during the first Sunday in November. The decidedly cool weather definitely encouraged the consumption of warming beverages and Bean Me Up mobile espresso unveiled their custom Bean Me Up Blend, doing a roaring trade through the day.

Ballarat FoodThe Ballarat Food producers also had a variety of Charisma Coffee beans on sale in great company with an amazing array of local produce on hand to tempt the taste buds.

This topped off a great weekend as Charisma Coffee founder and head roaster Marcus Downes was interviewed, featuring in the Food & Wine section of The Courier newspaper on Saturday. Feedback as a result of the article has been very positive.

Congratulations!

Jesse Hartwich from the Mitchell Harris Wine Bar has been named Ballarat's 'Best Barista' at the Golden Plate Awards for 2013 - using Charisma Coffee. The Wine Bar itself picked up the 'Judges' Innovation Award'. Congratulations on both counts. Charisma Coffee is a proud supplier to Mitchell Harris.

New bean varieties available

Charisma Coffee has two new varieties available. These are Aielu Rusticano Organic from Timor Leste and from Peru an interesting Decaf Organic (that is so good, you'll never know it's a decaf). To read more about these exciting additions to the range, click here.

Another Bronze Medal!

AICAWe have done it again; this time for our Ethiopian Yirgacheffe at the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria's Australian International Coffee Awards. The Bronze Medal was won in the single origin espresso category. Award tasting notes highlight the "heavy mouthfeel, very good body" and "good sweetness and acidity".

28 March 2013: The Courier newspaper included a colour magazine insert promoted by Ballarat Regional Tourism, exploring the diverse and growing coffee scene in Ballarat. Charisma Coffee was very pleased to have a full page profile featured in the publication, showcasing the growing coffee culture in the great city of Ballarat.

 

Local Growers Dinner

Local Growers DinnerCharisma Coffee featured at the Ballarat Local Growers Dinner held at the Lydiard Wine Bar in March 2013. This dinner showcased the finest fresh regional produce expertly prepared by chefs Andrew Bayerle and the Wine Bar's Damian Jones. The dinner was concluded with fresh, locally roasted Charisma Coffee to very favourable comments from the knowledgeable patrons.

2012-2013 Golden Bean Roaster Competition - A second Bronze Medal!

Golden BeanCharisma Coffee has again had competition success! Our Timor Leste Maubisse single origin organic, has gained a second Bronze Medal in this year's Golden Bean Competition in the Organic Espresso class. Results are to be found on Facebook.

 

2012 Royal Melbourne Show

2012 BronzeAt the 2012 Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards, Charisma Coffee's single origin, organic Timor Leste Maubisse roast won a Bronze Medal in the Espresso category. This is the coffee that is selling very successfully as a fundraiser for the Ballarat Friends of Ainaro Community Committee.
